About The Position

Be part of a team that helps patients through their cancer journey. We are home to UW Health | Carbone Cancer Center, Wisconsin's only comprehensive cancer center, as designated by the National Cancer Institute. We work to prevent cancer through risk assessments and research, and we have programs focused on early diagnosis, when cancer is most treatable. We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to join the oncology specialists who are proud to be nationally recognized for delivering the best in cancer care. The role involves taking vitals, noting patients’ needs and concerns, and assisting with clinic procedures and exams. The Medical Assistant will provide quality care in a compassionate and patient-family centered environment and promote healthy lifestyles, wellness and education.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or
• Licensure as an LPN or
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or
• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated or
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification
• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or
• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred
