About The Position

This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties. It facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow and is responsible for all front desk duties specific to the department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation. The role also includes performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures are in place to address the appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)
  • 1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency)
  • Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency)
