Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. About This Location: Advocate Health’s Neurology Clinic in Palos Heights, IL is a highly collaborative, fast-paced outpatient practice dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered neurological care. Our team includes experienced neurologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff who work together to manage a wide range of neurological conditions, including migraines, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and neuromuscular diseases. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable Medical Assistant experience or a current certified/registered Medical Assistant with 2 years of verifiable Medical Assistant experience
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
• Must be willing to travel to satellite locations
