Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a medical office is required
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding is essential for accurate documentation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
  • Should have great customer service skills and excellent communication skills as well as be a team player
  • Basic knowledge of medical office workflows, patient scheduling processes, and healthcare documentation practices.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare office, medical practice, clinic, or related healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant certification or Medical Office Assistant certification.
  • Bilingual Spanish with English is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms with accuracy and compassion.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as administering medications, documenting in the chart and post op and minor surgical procedures.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, treatment plans, ICD coding, and medical histories.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
  • Support medical administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate documentation of all patient interactions.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, staff, and external stakeholders.
