About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant in Brevard County, covering all locations. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting. While no prior work experience is strictly required, an additional six months of clinical experience can substitute for the technical diploma. The role also necessitates specific certifications and the ability to perform clinical and technical tasks with visual acuity and manual dexterity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, organizational skills, time management, and strong communication are essential. The Medical Assistant must be knowledgeable in medical terminology, adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment, and capable of assessing and interpreting data for problem-solving. Understanding of biohazardous waste, MSDS substances, and communicable diseases is also required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, ARMA, NAHP, or AMCA.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform clinical/technical tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office equipment and systems.
  • Organizational and Time management skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment, changes in workflow, tasks or processes.
  • Ability to assess and interpret data to problem solve or provide appropriate response.
  • Knowledge of exposure to biohazardous waste, MSDS substances, and communicable diseases.

Nice To Haves

  • With No Technical Diploma: Additional six (6) months or more in related clinical experience.
  • If hired into Memory Disorder Clinic OR Health First Aging: Satisfy the State of Florida, Agency for Healthcare Administration (ACHA) Level 2 background screening.
