Medical Assistant -Worcester Health Care for the Homeless
About The Position
The Medical Assistant position is a full-time, onsite role at Worcester Health Care for the Homeless (WHCH). WHCH offers trauma-informed medical and behavioral health services to individuals experiencing homelessness, aiming to create a welcoming, empowering, and dignified medical home. The team-based approach provides care at the clinic located at 199 Chandler Street and various outreach clinics within the City of Worcester. In addition to medical and behavioral health services, patients can access case management, recovery coaches, and Office Based Assisted Treatment (OBAT) for substance-use disorder.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Medical Assistant Certification
- CPR/BLS Certification required.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in primary care or other health care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of an RN/LPN, the Medical Assistant provides direct clinical service to patients by performing basic patient care tasks.
- Completes unit clerk responsibilities as assigned.
