About The Position

This Medical Assistant position in Ortho Surgery at Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Group Gulf in Port St. Joe, FL, is a full-time role working Monday through Friday during the day. The Medical Assistant will manage the patient journey by greeting patients, taking vitals, collecting medical history, and assisting providers during examinations and procedures. They will also provide follow-up by updating patients on test results and discussing health-related questions. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and prepared treatment room, managing charting, addressing patient questions, and processing referrals and prior authorizations.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
1 year of medical assistant experience is preferred.
Medical assistant education and training are preferred.

Responsibilities
