Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
  • CPR certification or willing to attain upon hire
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to put people at ease
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Organized
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Able to take direction well

Nice To Haves

  • Certification is a plus
  • Casting a plus
  • DME experience a plus
  • Previous experience in an orthopedics setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in Electronic Medical Records system would be a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and triage them upon arrival.
  • Prepare patients to see the physician by obtaining their histories, vital signs, and weight/height measurements.
  • Assist our clinicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Review the care plan with patients to ensure they understand before leaving our clinic.
  • Ensure examination and procedure rooms are always in order, set up, and ready for each new patient.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Schedule appointments and procedures for patients.
  • Manage necessary documents such as pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results.
  • Respond to patient phone messages in a timely manner.
  • Document everything properly in our computer system.
