About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA/MA Sr) is a healthcare professional and an essential member of the patient-centered healthcare team. The MA/MA Sr helps patients feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit. This onsite position is at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a 0.8 FTE and 32 standard hours per week. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no holidays or weekends. The role requires maintaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, remaining compliant with organizational education, licensure, and certification requirements, and cross-training and floating as needed to provide services across sites and support optimal clinic operations. For the Medical Assistant level, a high school diploma or GED and one of the listed qualifying training pathways are required. For the Medical Assistant Senior level, a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, one of the specified credentials or training pathways, and applicable experience are required. The organization notes that compensation is based on market and experience, including active certification or licensure.

Requirements

Medical Assistant (MA): High school diploma or GED.
Medical Assistant (MA): Complete an MA program, complete an EMT-Basic course, receive on-the-job MA training and have one year of healthcare experience, or complete an MA Apprentice program.
Medical Assistant (MA): AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or an AHA-approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): High school diploma or GED.
Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or an AHA-approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): Military Medic/Corpsman training, with one of the specified certifications or licenses obtained within six months of hire; or an accepted medical assistant credential, paramedic certification, Advanced EMT qualification, graduation from an accredited LPN program with an active LPN license, or other certification from an approved body maintained by Froedtert Human Resources.
Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): One year of experience as a medical assistant or in the field of the credential held.
Medical Assistant (MA): One year of healthcare experience is preferred.
