About The Position

The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment. The Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks such as discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs. The Medical Assistant also administers medications and vaccines, performs phlebotomy, and collects specimens. Additionally, the Medical Assistant performs diagnostic screening tests, sterilizes and cleans equipment, and maintains examination rooms. Finally, the Medical Assistant documents information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions typically focus on methods and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects. Exercise interpretation and adaptation of procedures, processes, and techniques. The Medical Assistant has advanced skills, contributes to process improvement, delivers in-depth training, and provides advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants. Requirements

  • Certified or Registered Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years MA experience in PCO center
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication
