About The Position

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Internal Medicine clinic. The Medical Assistant will assist in the delivery of all office-related healthcare and patient care management, direct the patient flow process, perform patient check-in and appointment scheduling, support PPSI by maintaining patient financial records, provide closure to patient visits, and answer and direct all telephone calls appropriately.

Requirements

Graduate of Highschool or GED equivalent
Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants or Certified Nursing Assistants
Current Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

Experience in an office or medically related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists in the delivery of all office related healthcare and patient care management.
Directs the patient flow process at physician's office.
Performs patient check in and appointment scheduling as assigned.
Supports PPSI by maintaining patient financial records at the office.
Provides closure to patient visit.
Answers and directs all telephone calls appropriately.
