About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Family Practice Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to provide both clinical and administrative support. The hours are Monday-Thursday (8:30-5:00) and Friday (8:30-2:00). Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants, payable within 30 days of hire to employees with active and verified credentials. For employees who have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient treatment, prepare patients for providers, and perform various clerical duties under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
Medicare Exclusion List.
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
Escorting patients to exam room.
Preparing exam rooms.
Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
Administering injections.
Other duties as assigned.
