About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support in a clinic setting, working collaboratively with providers and team members to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
0–3 years of previous experience or equivalent skills and demonstrated performance.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification within 3 months of initial employment and maintained throughout employment with GRHD.
Strong communication, teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform patient intake, obtain and document vital signs, and accurately update the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, diagnostic testing, medications, immunizations, and specimen collection.
Prepare examination and procedure rooms, operate medical equipment, and maintain appropriate infection control and safety standards.
Coordinate appointments, follow-ups, patient calls, education, and communication while addressing questions and concerns within scope of practice.
Support quality improvement, data organization, process optimization, and clinic initiatives that promote positive patient outcomes and Rural Health Clinic reimbursement.
Maintain current knowledge of clinical practices, public health, infection control, and organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and flexibility while supporting smooth clinic operations.
Perform a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
