About The Position

Vero Orthopaedics is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join their team as Clinical Assistants. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to work directly with patients and expand skills in orthopaedics. The role involves assisting physicians and physician assistants with patient care, preparing exam rooms, updating medical records, assisting with procedures, and providing patient education. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Clinical certification, licensure, education, or previous patient-care experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable learning electronic health record systems and clinical workflows
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, providers, coworkers, and patients
  • Willingness to learn new clinical skills and procedures
  • HIPAA and OSHA competency are required

Nice To Haves

  • Orthopaedic experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and physician assistants with patient care in the clinic
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits
  • Record and update medical histories and clinical information in the electronic medical record
  • Assist with casting, bracing, injections, and other in-office procedures
  • Perform cast and suture removal
  • Provide patient education and instructions
  • Complete patient phone triage and follow up on patient requests
  • Act as a liaison between patients and their medical providers
  • Stock and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
  • Clean instruments following procedures and prepare them for sterilization
  • Help keep the clinic running efficiently in a busy, team-oriented environment
  • Travel between our Vero Beach and Sebastian offices as needed
