Johnston Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. This position is a day shift role. The MA/LPN will be responsible for delivering patient care, including patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation. They will also assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment, maintain aseptic techniques, administer medications and immunizations under provider direction, and prepare patient charts. Key responsibilities include communicating with patients about test results and care plans, scheduling procedures and surgeries, coordinating physician schedules, managing patient follow-ups, and educating patients and families. The role also involves patient outreach for overdue visits and referrals, ensuring continuity of care, and acting as a patient advocate. Additionally, the MA/LPN will assist in training new colleagues, may cross-cover in other clinic areas, and document patient care plans in the medical record. They are expected to escalate issues to the practice manager or healthcare provider and ensure safety checklists are completed. The role requires maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Trinity Health's policies to ensure ethical and professional conduct.
