Requirements

- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification from a recognized Medical Assistant certification body (e.g., CMA, RMA).
- Proficiency in taking vital signs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience with specific EHR systems used at UC.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish).
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative and clinical tasks to support medical staff.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration).
- Record patient medical history.
- Assist physicians during examinations.
- Administer medications as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests.
- Schedule appointments.
- Manage patient records.
- Handle billing and insurance processing.
