About The Position

Beverly Hills Multispecialty Clinic is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant for 8 Hour Days. This is a Non-Exempt (Union) position. The Medical Assistant will escort patients to exam rooms, obtain and record patient vital signs and medication lists, monitor patient flow, and assist physicians with minor clinical procedures. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, preparing patient charts with pertinent medical information, and scheduling diagnostic tests as ordered by the physician. The role also involves various office and clerical duties, ensuring patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality, and maintaining a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Compliance with infection control policies is essential. The Medical Assistant will determine patient care needs and direct patients accordingly, prepare charts including x-rays and lab work, and make arrangements for special equipment. They will set up exam rooms, assist physicians with exams, and monitor patient flow. Patients will be prepared for examinations, and vital signs will be obtained and recorded. Health care delivery areas must be kept stocked, organized, cleaned, and disinfected. The role includes maintaining files and records, overseeing equipment and office supply inventory, and performing various clerical tasks such as photocopying, collating, faxing, and running errands. Mail will be read, prioritized, and handled appropriately. Physician orders for medications and treatments will be implemented by appropriate staff. Patient information will be recorded in the chart/EHR according to Joint Commission standards, and a professional demeanor must be maintained. The Medical Assistant will provide coverage/relief for co-workers, communicating patient status directly when doing so. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma program
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
  • Experience in acute setting preferred.
  • Spanish language skills.
  • Knowledge of orthopaedic medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with word processing, IDX, GECB, COR Schuynet, Cerner, ProSolv, EPF and scheduling software.

Benefits

  • The hourly rate range for this position is $22.88 - $38.90.
