About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports patient care by collecting vital information during clinical procedures under the guidance of Registered Nurses. The role collaborates closely with the nursing team and performs clinical tasks within the employee’s education and competencies to support efficient, effective, and high-quality healthcare delivery.

This PRN position requires an active Phlebotomy certification. Coverage is needed Monday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is available only to people who reside in the United States.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited CMA course.
• An active Phlebotomy certification is required.
• Currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the state if certification is required by the state or facility; certification is not required where the position is not required to be certified.
• Obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
• Must reside in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RNs and other staff while following established policies and procedures and implementing clinical and technical aspects of care, including appropriate interventions and patient-specific safety precautions.
• Help collect patient history information, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow-up care while supporting continuity of care and adherence to staffing schedules.
• Respond to medical emergencies or codes according to site protocols.
• Assist healthcare practitioners as assigned and uphold infection-control measures.
• Prioritize patients’ emotional and physical comfort and safety.
• Help maintain a clean, functional work environment with adequately stocked supplies and equipment.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions to support continuing development and adherence to best practices.
