About The Position

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Casual Medical Assistant to support the office in Erie. Weekend and evening availability required to support the hours of operation. Clinic Hours: 4:30p-9p Mon-Fri and 9:30a-6p Sat-Sun. Pediatric experience preferred. Rate and Title will be determined based on education and experience. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.

Nice To Haves

• Prior pediatric office experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vitals and labs, assist with exams and procedures, document patient data, and relay care instructions.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms, maintain equipment, and manage supply inventory.
• Schedule appointments, confirm insurance, update patient records, and manage documentation.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and state health regulations; maintain confidentiality and clinical competencies.
• Support patients with mobility, specimen collection, and provide education as needed.
• Administer injections and vaccines under physician supervision, following safety protocols.
