Under clinical supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment according to policies and procedures and Logan Health MAU/UAP scope of practice. Provides administrative support and works collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, LPNs and other department staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Location: Logan Health Neuroscience & Spine – Neurology Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, Day Shift (8-Hour Shifts) At Logan Health Neuroscience & Spine – Neurology, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, specialized care for patients with neurological conditions and disorders. Our team works collaboratively to support patients through diagnosis, treatment, education, and ongoing care management. This clinic is known for its patient-centered approach, supportive team culture, and commitment to improving quality of life through exceptional neurological care. We’re seeking a Registered Medical Assistant to join our dynamic and patient-focused Neurology team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful patient interactions, thrives in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment, and values teamwork and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
  • Completion of Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry Qualifying Courses (ABR-OE) required.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program, OR Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program with a minimum of 720 clock hours and 160-hour externship.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior clinic or specialty outpatient experience preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology knowledge preferred.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification preferred or required prior to completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for exams, procedures, and provider visits.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, medication information, and neurological symptom updates accurately in the medical record.
  • Assist providers with in-office procedures, treatments, and patient care activities.
  • Perform specimen collection, labeling, and documentation according to established protocols.
  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, imaging, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Manage patient calls, portal messages, medication refill requests, and provider communications.
  • Support patient education related to neurological conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Participate in department meetings, process improvement initiatives, and quality-focused activities.
  • With approved training and competencies, may perform medical scribe duties and accurately document provider notes within the electronic medical record.
