Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or equivalent training)
  • 1+ year healthcare experience (or clinical rotations)
  • BLS/CPR certified
  • Comfortable using EMR systems

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Experience in primary care clinics, value-based or team-based care environments

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and set the tone for a positive, comfortable experience
  • Prepare exam rooms and anticipate care needs (vaccines, labs, screenings)
  • Room patients efficiently while capturing accurate, meaningful clinical info
  • Take vitals, review medications, and identify patient needs
  • Support providers so they can stay focused on care—not logistics
  • Perform phlebotomy and basic lab tests
  • Administer vaccines and screenings (within certification)
  • Assist with procedures and care delivery
  • Coordinate diagnostics, DME, and follow-up care
  • Provide phone support and guidance to patients
  • Collaborate in care team meetings to improve outcomes
  • Help ensure continuity and follow-through on care plans
  • Maintain clean, safe, fully stocked exam rooms
  • Manage supplies and support quality control processes
  • Uphold infection control and safety standards
