AFC Urgent Care is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team in Cicero. As a Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside providers and fellow clinical staff to deliver high-quality urgent care while ensuring an outstanding patient experience.

Requirements

Current CPR/BLS certification
Phlebotomy experience required
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with EMR systems and basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

Previous urgent care, emergency medicine, family practice, or primary care experience preferred
X-ray certification preferred but not required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during procedures
Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and other clinical duties within scope of practice
Assist with X-rays (if licensed/trained)
Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens
Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms
Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
Assist with occupational medicine services, physicals, and workers' compensation visits
Maintain infection control and OSHA compliance standards
Support front office operations as needed, including patient registration and insurance verification
Deliver excellent customer service to every patient and team member
