About The Position

Carbon Health is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant for our Westlake, Austin, TX location. This role involves performing patient care, assisting with procedures, administering medications, conducting lab tests, and managing front desk duties. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, current BLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, with phlebotomy experience being required. The role also requires willingness to obtain DOT certification for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS certification
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant required
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Great communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history and triaging
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, carry out ear lavages and run EKGs
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, rapid HIV testing
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed
• Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests
