The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families. This role involves performing a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients. The Medical Assistant I is responsible for maintaining the patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety. Key duties include rooming patients by collecting pertinent information, preparing patients and supplies for procedures, maintaining par levels and ordering supplies, assisting with bone marrow biopsies, and transporting patients as needed. The role also involves managing the cleaning and restocking of medical supplies.
