About The Position

This role involves providing direct patient care, assisting medical providers, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of examination rooms and medical supplies. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients, administering treatments, maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical records system, and coordinating patient care activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • BLS Certification
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (or have completed a Medical Assistant training program and are able to complete certification within 90 days of employment).

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree Preferred.
  • Prior Clinical Experience as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for appointments by taking medical history and vitals.
  • Assists with patient care and facilitates communication between medical providers and patients.
  • Administers injections and vaccines as directed.
  • Maintains knowledge of procedures and participates in staff training.
  • Prepares and cleans examination rooms according to protocols, ensuring infection control and safety.
  • Maintains patient records in the electronic medical records system and monitors patient flow.
  • Handles telephone calls related to clinic business and patient care.
  • Participates in health promotion and disease prevention activities.
  • Performs other related tasks to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in skills such as suture/staple removal, injections, catheterization, and sample collection.
  • Monitors and orders medical supplies.
  • Ensures completion of documentation and closure of notes.
  • Triages patients for acuity assessment.
  • Telephones prescription orders and obtains signatures.
  • Coordinates test scheduling and appointments.
  • Maintains awareness of licensure status and educational requirements.
  • Assists with processing Pharmacy Assistance Program medications.
  • Performs quality control of Point-of-Care testing materials and laboratory functions.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
