About The Position

Sun River Health is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support our Park Care location in Yonkers, NY. The Medical Assistant assists patients and the clinical team by performing medical care tasks as directed by nursing and medical staff, adhering to the Center's objectives and policies. This role involves performing job duties in compliance with system and job-specific standards, with additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
• 0-1 year of related work experience

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate

Responsibilities

• Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests.
• Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, Smoke status, etc.
• Documents the reason for the visit.
• Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures).
• Performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Keeps the clinical area stocked and organized.
• Ensures all dated materials are current and disposes of outdated supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each service.
• Performs basic clerical work in the service area, answers phones appropriately, and communicates problems/concerns to the nurse.
• Handles telephone inquiries.
• Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
