About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team. The Medical Assistant is a vital part of the care team, collaborating closely with a primary care physician to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure an outstanding guest experience. In Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants manage the entire patient journey, performing both Medical Receptionist duties and clinical responsibilities. This role is crucial in providing advanced primary care, mental health, occupational health, musculoskeletal, and pharmacy services through their extensive network of health centers and virtual care options.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred (required in states where mandated).
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant in Primary Care.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Collaborate with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Partner with the care team to develop individual patient care plans and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and communicate them to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as instructed by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
