About The Position
Aris Clinic is a behavioral health practice located in Woodbury, MN. Our mission is to help patients achieve healthy, stable, and productive lives. The clinic offers outpatient services including psychiatry, therapy, and intensive outpatient programming for kids and their families struggling with emotional and behavioral health issues that cause significant difficulties in their families, schools, and/or communities. Requirements
- Full-time Medical Assistant supporting psychiatric prescribers
- Key liaison between the patient and the provider responding to patient questions and communicating orders from the provider
- Professional and energetic candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understands the importance of patient care
- Computer savvy (EHR experience preferred)
- Basic understanding of psychiatry principles
- College degree required
Nice To Haves
- Preference for a biology, neuroscience, pre-med, psychology, or related major
- Experience in a medical office, or equivalent education preferred
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting a plus
- Role that many gap year students have filled in the past while applying to medical school
Responsibilities
- Prepping patients by checking vital signs, guiding patients to exam rooms and providing instructions before they’re seen by Clinicians
- Documenting psychiatric encounters including chief complaints, diagnoses, treatment plans, orders, and medications into the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
- Passing prescribed medications, transmitting electronically prescribe prescriptions, and processing refill requests
- Monitoring patients for safety
- Completing prescription prior authorizations
- Reviewing charts to ensure accuracy
- Helping to maintain efficient patient flow in a fast paced environment
- Gathering and verifying insurance coverage or helping process claims paperwork
- Cleaning or maintaining medical equipment and supplies
- Responding to written and verbal patient inquiries
- Other duties as assigned
