Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician office or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Ability to perform both clinical and front-office responsibilities based on clinic operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant certification.
  • Previous medical office, patient registration, scheduling, or receptionist experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures within the scope of the position.
  • Obtain and accurately record patient information, medical history, and vital signs in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Record and process patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians and in accordance with established organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Organize, stock, and clean exam and treatment rooms and sterilize instruments as required.
  • Maintain established quality control standards and required Medical Assistant and BLS/CPR certifications.
  • Assist with general patient care and preparation for examinations as needed.
  • Greet patients and assist with patient check-in and check-out.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-up visits, and procedures.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to voicemails, route messages, and follow up as appropriate.
  • Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information.
  • Assist with referrals, orders, medical records, and other patient documentation as needed.
  • Collect applicable patient payments and accurately document financial information.
  • Provide professional customer service and assist patients with questions, forms, and general clinic needs.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming reception and patient-care areas.
  • Perform both Medical Assistant and Medical Receptionist duties and transition between clinical and front-office responsibilities based on patient volume, staffing, and operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
