About The Position

Bring your compassion, clinical skills, and commitment to patient care to Logan Health Children’s Specialty. Our Children’s Specialty team provides compassionate, specialized care to children and families managing a variety of complex and ongoing healthcare needs. We are seeking a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to join our patient-focused team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and families, values collaboration, and is interested in supporting specialty pediatric care. You’ll work closely with providers and other members of the care team while helping create a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience for every patient and family.

Requirements

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through an accredited certifying organization.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited certifying organization.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current Montana LPN license.
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before providing independent patient care, whichever comes first.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, pharmacology, infection control practices, and HIPAA requirements preferred.
  • Previous pediatric, specialty clinic, or experience supporting children and families navigating complex care needs is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, patient confidentiality, and exceptional patient and family care.
  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software systems as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and prepare pediatric patients for appointments, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
  • Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and other clinical needs while maintaining patient comfort and privacy.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform competency-validated clinical tasks, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, scheduling, and follow-up appointments.
  • Support communication with patients and families regarding appointments, testing, medications, and care coordination.
  • Support daily clinic operations by maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies while assisting with patient calls and portal communications.
