About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team. The Medical Assistant is a vital part of the care team, working closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and an exceptional guest experience. In this unique role, Medical Assistants manage the full patient experience, serving as both a Medical Receptionist and performing clinical duties. This position is located at Elmbrook and is a PRN (as needed) role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside the clinic, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone as directed by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement among eligible patient groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
