The Medical Assistant is an integral part of the patient-centered medical care team. This role involves collaborating with providers, nurses, and front office staff to efficiently prepare patients and ensure a seamless workflow. Key responsibilities include documenting the chief complaint, reviewing medications and allergies, taking vital signs, completing preventive health screenings, and performing lab tests or other procedures. The position also provides administrative support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program (diploma) from an accredited school or be certified as a medical assistant with one year of experience
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Oral and written proficiency in English
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and relevant procedures
  • Excellent written, electronic and oral communication skills
  • Above average critical thinking and problem solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish preferred
