POSITION OVERVIEW: The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a key role in supporting pediatric providers and ensuring an efficient, positive, and compassionate experience for children and their families. This role involves hands‑on clinical duties, patient interaction, and administrative support to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required; completion of an accredited MA program.
  • Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred; pediatric experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and families, room patients, and prepare them for provider evaluations.
  • Accurately measure and record vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information.
  • Administer immunizations, perform point‑of-care testing, collect specimens, and assist with in‑office lab procedures (per certification).
  • Support providers during exams, procedures, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and ensure proper infection‑control standards.
  • Manage patient documentation and ensure accurate entry into the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist with scheduling, patient communication, and coordination of care.
  • Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions when appropriate.
  • Support overall clinic flow to ensure timely, efficient patient care.
