About The Position

Common Healthcare is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing primary care team. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for both clinical and administrative duties, including patient intake, vital signs, phlebotomy, medication reconciliation, chart preparation, and supporting providers throughout the patient visit. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, comfortable drawing blood, and committed to providing outstanding customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a primary care or family medicine setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills required.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert-level phlebotomy and blood draw experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medicare Advantage populations.
  • Experience with quality measures, HEDIS, and value-based care.
  • Experience with medication audits and chronic care management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection with a high level of accuracy and patient comfort.
  • Administer injections and medications as directed by providers.
  • Conduct medication reconciliation and medication audits.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Perform EKGs and other basic diagnostic testing.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepare and process laboratory specimens.
  • Monitor and maintain exam room readiness and clinical supplies.
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with patient flow.
  • Verify insurance and update patient demographics.
  • Complete prior authorizations and referrals as assigned.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with medical records requests and documentation management.
  • Support quality initiatives and value-based care programs.
