The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and conduct Point of Care testing. Responsibilities include administering medications and vaccines safely, completing tasks such as medication refills and insurance authorizations, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked work environment. The position requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development, and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs. Effective communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation are essential. The Medical Assistant will be cross-trained to perform duties relevant to the specialty or clinic practice within their scope.
