About The Position

Medical Assistant – Mountain Medical Associates. This is a PRN (As Needed) position with clinic hours Monday – Friday, 8a-5p. Haywood Regional Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. These services include routine checkups, illness management, preventative care, and minor procedures, lab/X-Ray. Our team includes 9 Physicians, 2 Physician Assistants and a Family Nurse Practitioner. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.
