About The Position

The Urgent Care is a five-room clinic providing acute care to patients and families, ranging in lower to higher acuity levels. The clinic will see all ages, pediatric to geriatric. Point of care lab testing and radiology is available on site. Minor procedures, laceration repair, suture removal, fracture care, and complications of underlying conditions, such as asthma. Rooming includes chief complaint, vital signs, and medication/medical history. Medication administration that consists of oral, inhalation, intramuscular and subcutaneous. We have a small and intimate team. There will be a culture of strong teamwork and flexibility to meet the patient's needs. The team strives to make an environment that is fun and enjoyable to come to work! Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
