About The Position
The Medical Assistant (MA) in Primary Care plays a crucial role in patient care by greeting patients, documenting vital signs and medical information, and providing essential support to the clinical team. This position is based in Mt. Prospect, IL, and is a full-time role requiring flexibility in hours, including potential Saturday shifts. The MA will escort patients, record vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for their visit, and may perform phlebotomy and injections. On-the-job training is provided for those new to the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- One year of work experience required
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
- previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
- On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
