The Medical Assistant in Ambulatory Operations is responsible for preparing and rooming patients for examinations by taking vital signs and gathering/documenting pertinent health information. This role involves monitoring and completing Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, performing laboratory procedures, and assisting physicians/advanced practice professionals with procedures. The Medical Assistant also administers routine medications, follows through with necessary test requests and referrals, and communicates effectively with patients and the healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic flow. Additional duties may include basic and advanced clinical support tasks based on specialty and competencies, under clinical supervision. This position requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
