About The Position

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Surgical Oncology practice, focusing on supporting patients through their cancer journey for GI and Melanoma cancers. The practice includes physicians/providers offering surgical and cancer health services, supported by RNs, medical assistants, and PSRs. The team emphasizes amazing care coordination and a supportive, patient-centered office culture with regular communication through one-on-one meetings, clinical, clerical, and staff meetings. They pride themselves on patient experience and team-building activities. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering diverse care options and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
