Optum NY is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their Pediatric Multi-Specialty team in Lake Success, NY. The work schedule includes Pediatric Pulmonology in Lake Success on Mondays from 1pm - 8pm, Pediatric Neurology in Lake Success from Tuesday - Thursday, 9am - 5pm, and Neurology in Plainview or Syosset on Fridays from 9am - 5pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of clinical experience in a medical office / clinic or hospital setting, or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Proven ability to support multi-specialties across multiple locations as identified in the work schedule

Nice To Haves

Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from one of the following agencies: NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA
Experience working in a family medicine setting

Responsibilities

Provide care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices
Coordinates with other members of the care team to ensure seamless care delivery, maximal coordination of efforts, and active patient participation in planning and care
Assists physician or other provider with clinical procedures
