About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant in an Urgent Care setting at Ascension Sacred Heart in Perdido, FL. The Medical Assistant will manage the patient journey by greeting patients, taking vitals, collecting medical history, and assisting providers during examinations and procedures. They will also provide follow-up by updating patients on test results and discussing health-related questions, maintain a clean and safe environment by preparing treatment rooms, and manage administrative workflows including charting, addressing patient questions, and processing referrals and prior authorizations.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
1 year of medical assistant experience.
Medical assistant education and training.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
