About The Position

Florida Urology is expanding its footprint throughout the Tampa Bay area and is looking to add to its Medical Assistant team. This is a fast-paced role in a busy office that has seen an increase in patients due to a services agreement with Tampa General Hospital. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and benefits for full-time employees.

Requirements

Excellent organizational skills
Skilled at prioritizing tasks
Ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with patients
Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections
Team player attitude
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
At least one year of MA experience required

Responsibilities

Taking medical histories and recording vital signs
Explaining treatment procedures to patients
Preparing patients for examination
Assisting the physician during the examination
Escorting patients to exam rooms
Interviewing patients
Measuring vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
Documenting all information in the patient's chart
Giving instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
Ensuring all related reports, labs, and information are filed and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
Keeping exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies
Maintaining instruments and preparing sterilization as required
Taking telephone messages and providing feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
Triaging and processing messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
Maintaining all logs and required checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
