The Dartmouth Health Career Institute (DHCI) Medical Assistant Program offers a unique opportunity to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through a comprehensive, paid training program. The program begins with 12 weeks of intensive classroom instruction and skills training, covering foundational knowledge and leading to certification. During this no-cost-to-you training, participants will complete 7 required courses and earn 22 college credits towards an Associate of Science in Health Sciences degree from Colby Sawyer College. Upon successful completion of the classroom phase, trainees will take the CCMA Exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Following certification, participants will transition into a full-time Medical Assistant Apprentice role to gain practical on-the-job experience. This apprenticeship, a required 2,000-hour Registered Apprenticeship with the US Department of Labor, is designed to develop proficiency in both technical and professional competencies introduced during the initial education. This program offers the chance to get paid while training to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
