Medical Assistant Trainee Pediatrics Mulberry
About The Position
This is an entry-level medical assistant position for someone who has graduated from an accredited medical assisting program but has not yet taken a credentialing exam, is currently enrolled in a medical assisting program, or has clinical experience and is transitioning to medical assisting. The Medical Assistant Trainee provides routine clinical and administrative support to providers and other health care team members in an outpatient clinic. Patient care activities are performed under the clinical supervision of the provider, with general direction from the designated manager or supervisor. The position is onsite at Pediatrics Mulberry in Lenoir, North Carolina, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week on a day schedule.
Requirements
- Obtain Medical Assistant credentials within 18 months of the hire date.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of clinical experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform rooming and intake, collecting vital signs, height, weight, and information related to the patient’s reason for visit.
- Collect patient and family information, including medical and social history.
- Assist providers as directed during treatments, examinations, and procedures.
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
- Provide patients with after-visit, follow-up, self-care, or procedural instructions and educational materials as directed.
- Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain examination and treatment rooms.
- Assist with patient registration, check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, scheduling tests and treatments, and referrals.
