We are seeking a Medical Assistant Trainee to join our team and support patient care while working toward becoming a Registered Medical Assistant. Requirements

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through an accredited certifying organization.
  • OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited certifying organization.
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before providing independent patient care, whichever comes first.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, patient confidentiality, and exceptional patient care.
  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software systems as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, pharmacology, infection control practices, and HIPAA requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations and treatments, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
  • Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform competency-validated clinical tasks, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care activities including referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, scheduling, and follow-up appointments.
  • Support daily clinic operations by maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies while assisting with patient calls and portal communications.
