About The Position

Provide coordination services to patients within designated sub-specialty populations. Services will begin with the evaluation/diagnosis of the patient, continuing throughout the care continuum, including the follow-up care needed to maintain access and continuity of care. Provides clinical assistance and performs diagnostic testing within the MA scope of practice. Specialized tasks include the creation and interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations, management of patient information, QI projects, and research data for ambulatory patients. The focus will be on the improvement of patient care, safety, and patient/family experience through significant interaction with both internal and external patients and stakeholders. Will assist families to address/resolve questions/concerns, as well as, support interactions between the sub-specialty team and the patients/families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of healthcare experience.
  • Medical Assistant – Certified designation by Washington Department of Health (DOH).
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
  • Current National Medical Assistant Association Certification (eligible for premium)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field.
  • Significant experience working with the general public in a healthcare/customer service environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with healthcare payor authorizations.
  • Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills.
