Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Spine Clinic in Nashville, Tennessee. The Spine Center offers innovative treatments for back and neck pain, with specialists working collaboratively to provide expert care. This role supports the licensed healthcare team by managing clinic patient flow, gathering patient data, assisting with patient education, and communicating with the healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for organizing and managing clinic operations, including maintaining supplies and equipment, identifying patient healthcare needs, performing/assisting with procedures, collecting and documenting patient screening data, and assisting with patient and family education. Additional duties may be assigned. The position emphasizes planning, organizing, clinical competencies, environment of care, and clinical patient documentation. Core accountabilities include performing routine tasks, utilizing discretion to solve problems, applying knowledge of standards and procedures, and providing guidance to entry-level coworkers.
