Medical Assistant, Specialty Care Free Clinic (OB/Gyn)
About The Position
The Specialty Care Free Clinic is the only clinic in South-Central Wisconsin to offer free specialty care to uninsured patients. We are dedicated to providing consultative diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services to low income uninsured adult patients living in and around the Dane County area of South-Central Wisconsin who are referred by primary care providers. We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to join our specialists who provide a broad range of basic and specialized medical care. The role involves providing quality care in a compassionate and patient-family centered environment, preparing patients for examination, obtaining vital signs, documenting chief complaint, medications, and allergies, and assisting with exams and procedures. The Medical Assistant will also promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or
- Licensure as an LPN or
- Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or
- Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or
- Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated or
- One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification
- Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or
- Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
- If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
- CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred
