About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Scribe functions as a member of the patient care team, contributing to the health management of the patients. This role performs a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for Clinic patients, many in assistance to section physicians and under the direction and supervision of the Patient Care Manager. The primary responsibility is for all technical procedures and the operation and care of the nursing unit in the department. This role also assists the physician in maintaining the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Requirements

  • Formal training, likely indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day.
  • Ability to lift, move and transport patients, equipment and supplies.
  • Motor coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Articulate speech.
  • Ability to read and understand orders.
  • Visual acuity and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an approved medical assistant program or medical assistant training.
  • Trained to perform ABI, EKGs, Rhythm strips, Pulmonary Function Testing, Tympanometry, CDL/DOT, 6 foot hearing and visual testing with form completion, Oxymetry, Diabetic Foot Exams including testing for PVD and Neuropathy with monofilament and vibratory testing.

Responsibilities
